Sunday Confessions: Scattershot Blogging

1. Apologies for lack of blogging. Had every intention of doing a buyer's archive post this week. But then crisis hit my house: a very mysterious disease sometimes known as "Man Flu." Now, I know that Man Flu is not something to be joked about - no, it can be deathly serious, as no other illness can. And it varies - in all fairness the strain of Man Flu we are dealing with here is mild compared to most. In this incarnation the patient becomes ill, but rather than accept help as any normal - ahem, sorry, non-Man Flu inflicted person might, soldiers on, doing stuff, then becomes whiny and grumpy because actually they are ill and eventually passes out on the couch. Not much can be done for Man Flu other than to ride it out. Oh and of course catch it yourself, because Man Flu has no sense of karma or justice for your suffering. Thanks, Man Flu. I really have no idea how people manage to blog when they have kids, super busy lives, etc. I just require quiet time/total concentration (so not a multi-tasker I guess!).

2. My Mom's dog is poorly. He is 15 years old old and his spine is riddled with awful arthritis, and his legs have been giving out on top of being basically blind and deaf. He is on steroids now which seem to be helping more than the painkillers were. He is a miniature poodle fondly known as "Le Petit Merde" - that's Little Shit to you and I ;-). He is not your average dog, to say the least, but he is my Mommy's dog and I have been unduly worried about his little frame. The thing is other people are going through heavy stuff right now in the family, and my Mom is not one to put out Facebook pleas for prayers for the poodle, and I do feel like we often subvert our own "lesser" problems when it comes to internet sharing, because someone else is always going through something worse. So I just want to say I'm rooting for you little guy!

Remy, the mack daddy of aloof

3. Finally watched Begin Again: Mark Ruffalo makes everything better, non? Sweet film, didn't love the ending but really enjoyed it otherwise. Except the guy from Maroon Five was in it who I hate. But not so much as to ruin the film. It really made me miss New York though, bad. I immediately recognized my old favourite bar on the Lower East Side 7B (though it's been renamed something weird it will always be 7B!), amongst lots of other great NYC locations, and it is just a sweet little movie about new starts, music and stripping away b.s. Loved it.

  2. Ugh, sorry about the flu! I really don't know how people with kids deal with real life and blogging, so much work!

Poor little poodle, love the name though! Sounds so fancy ;) I do like that veterinarian care has really progressed through the years.

    1. I know, right? I'm convinced they have little elves or something helping them! One cog out of place and I can't concentrate. Ha it does sound fancy, he is a rescue, he was a little breeder the first 5 years of his life. So he's had a good life with my Mom, it just sucks, he's basically a cat really the way he acts but he is her dog.

  3. Yeah, I honestly don't know how people with kids and all that other stuff going on find time to blog - especially the ones who don't blog casually, but their whole blog is the week's food menu and housecleaning tips and updates on what their kids are doing and homemade crafts and other stuff. Ugh. (I don't read too many of those blogs, actually, but I am aware of them.)
Sorry about the dog! Poor baby!

    1. I started blogging hoping it would make me one of those organized types but so far no dice! Thanks Becky, he has perked up on the steroids but he can't stay on them long term so hopefully he's still feeling better when he comes off them.
