Sunday Confessions: Christmas Edition

(Christmas Edition!)

I confess: I haven't started my Christmas shopping yet (um other than helping D. do in-laws, but none of my own personal presents for people). Nor have I put up so much as a Christmas bauble. But I don't feel weird about it (but feel like I should because everyone seems in full decking the halls swing but me!). Possibly because I grew up getting the Christmas tree a week beforehand usually (sometimes later!). Do people not do that anymore? Plus once my decorations are up, they are up through my birthday (it's,um, a law!) which is exactly two weeks after Christmas. (I was supposed to be born on Christmas Eve!)

I confess: But I was eyeing up these sad little real trees at our local shop today even though we have no room for any kind of tree bigger than the Charlie Brown fake one we've been rocking for a few years now. Plus this is Aberdeen so a 3 ft tree would probably cost £50! ($75! ;-)

I confess: I am totally recycling old Christmas cards this year. I have over half a dozen boxes with a few cards left in each, the annual Christmas card pile up ends here in 2015! Sorry if you get a repeat of last year's card (like you will even remember!)

I confess: I want to up my holiday music game this year, I don't quite know how to explain this to my American friends, but Christmas music in Britain is..... horrifyingly bad! Like so bad I wrote an entire post about it (currently filed under "Who the h double hockey sticks would ever want to read this?!"). SO anyway, Christmas radio is out. I've been eyeing up curios such as "Soul Christmas" and "Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers Christmas" on Amazon only half jokingly. I don't do dreary emo indie Christmas music, it needs to be fun. Or traditional with a twist. Any recommendations greatly appreciated to save me from this!:

  1. I do most of my shopping online, so I feel I have to get it done early to make sure everything ships in time! Hopefully your list is short and easy :)

    1. To be fair I do shop a lot online as well, I've gotten pretty lazily last minute with the Amazon Prime one day delivery at my fingertips! My list is generally short (though there is always a last minute burst of buying random stuff it seems!).

  2. This year I've finished my shopping already (most of it online) because I'm so short on time, but I usually leave quite a bit till the last minute (which last year backfired spectacularly, as I had to rush round the city centre whilst suffering from bronchitis before collapsing into bed for a week!)

    1. I do tend to always have a few last minute desperate dashes, I never learn! This year is hard to be organized,we're away this weekend and my Mom arrives Tuesday. Ack!

    What were they thinking?

Thank you for doing the confessions post even though I didn't do one. I will be doing one this upcoming Sunday for sure, though. Back on track. ;)
